Broadway Field Turf and Construction Project

SEASIDE, Ore. -- The Seaside School District, in a letter from Superintendent Susan Penrod, released the following information regarding the Broadway Field Turf and Construction Project set to begin on May 22, 2023.

Dear Seaside Community:

We are excited to share that the Broadway Field re-turf project begins Monday, May 22nd, with this first phase of the project completed the last week of June. Demolition of the older storage buildings will begin soon as well. Construction of the new softball field, which includes relocating the Herche Family Training Facility, will begin the week of July 10th, with completion in November. Football and soccer fall sports will not be impeded while construction continues. 

In addition, we are working collaboratively with the non-profit Seaside Food Forest to find a new location for the Sunny Hunt Community Gardens, which are currently located at Broadway Field near the Herche Family Training Facility. 

For safety reasons, the Broadway Sports Field will be closed to the public during construction. The skate park, playground, and public restrooms will remain open. Thank you in advance for understanding and for your support of our student-athletes. These improvements will provide equitable access for female athletes and greatly benefit our community.
