Traffic Delays Expected at Broadway Intersection

Traffic Control Device Failure at Broadway/Roosevelt May Impact Travel into Thursday
Broadway Roosevelt Intersection

Seaside, Ore – February 28, 2022 – Due to the sudden failure and subsequent removal of a traffic control device at the intersection of Broadway and Roosevelt, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) has closed a portion of this intersection, with an estimated reopening of Thursday, March 3.

The temporary loss of service with all signals at the intersection means that east and westbound traffic is closed temporarily and turn lanes in all directions will also be out of service for at least the next couple of days. While north and southbound traffic can proceed as normal, the intersection will now function as a two-way stop sign until temporary repairs can be made. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to use extreme caution in this area and, if possible, avoid the intersection by using Wahanna Road or Holladay Drive as a bypass to the Broadway/Roosevelt intersection.

While the Broadway/Roosevelt intersection sits within the city limits of Seaside, U.S. Highway 101 – or Roosevelt as it is identified in Seaside proper – is managed by ODOT, who retains oversight of the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and driveways along the main thoroughfare through Seaside.
