August 9, 2023 Update: The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) now estimates the Avenue G closure in Seaside may remain in place through approximately August 23. Due to unstable soil conditions near the bridge, the ongoing ODOT project to connect an outfall pipe and storm drain related to US Highway 101 improvements has proceeded slower than originally anticipated.

July 21, 2023 Update: Avenue G between S. Holladay and S. Franklin streets, including the bridge, will remain closed to all traffic through approximately August 9. The estimated closure has been extended an additional two weeks to accommodate a site review by the Oregon Department of Transportation. The required review will ensure further excavations do not affect the bridge foundations due to local site conditions.

SEASIDE, Ore. – July 11, 2023 – Avenue G between S. Holladay and S. Franklin streets, including the bridge, will be closed starting Wednesday, July 12, to all traffic for construction related to the ongoing Oregon Department of Transportation improvement project on US Highway 101 in Seaside. The bridge closure includes pedestrian traffic and is estimated to remain in place until July 26, approximately two weeks.

Crews from Big River Construction will install and connect an outfall pipe and storm drain during the closure. Traffic along Holladay should not be affected. Access to the west side of the Necanicum River will be available via bridges at Avenue U, Avenue B, Broadway, 1st Avenue, and 12th Avenue while the required work is being done. Local access to businesses and residences on the east side of the closure area will be provided.
