As always, Seaside Fire & Rescue stress the importance of fire safety. Daylight saving time is a good twice-per-year reminder to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors at home and make sure they’re in working order. Oregonians will set our clocks back an hour on Sunday, Nov. 5 this year. If your residence has a chimney, remember to have it inspected each year for the winter. Lastly, with colder weather arriving, make sure no items are placed directly in front of or next to heating units.
