U.S. Highway 101 Project Finalized in Seaside

SEASIDE, Ore - October 23, 2023 - The widening of Highway 101 through Seaside from Avenue A through Avenue K recently wrapped up. The before and after photo included here illustrates how widening the road created a new center turn lane, bike lanes, and sidewalks to improve mobility for all road users. The project includes the following improvements:
    •    New center turn lane.
    •    Improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
    •    Two enhanced crosswalks with a median refuge Island, pedestrian-activated flashing lights, and advanced warning striping for cars to stop. These are located north of Avenue B and south of Avenue F.
    •    Installation of new curb ramps to ADA standards.
    •    Upgraded traffic signs.
    •    Improved drainage.
