SEASIDE, Ore. – June 28, 2023 – At 4:42 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, a member of Seaside Fire & Rescue noticed smoke in the air above the south end of Seaside, east of Highway 101. Upon investigation, the smoke was revealed to be coming from an active fire in a large pile of wood next to a garage in the 86000 block of S. Wahanna Road. The flames extended along the siding of the garage and into the surrounding trees.

Additional crews from Seaside Fire began arriving on scene by 4:54 p.m. They were able to quickly knock the fire down and get control of the incident, preventing further damage to the structure or flames from spreading into the surrounding woodland area. Crews cleared the scene by 6:14 p.m.

Seaside Fire received mutual aid on the two-alarm wildland interface fire from Gearhart, Cannon Beach, Lewis & Clark, Warrenton, Hamlet, and the Oregon Department of Forestry.
