Great ShakeOut Drill

October 21, 19:21 a.m.
shake out drill

At 10:21 a.m. on 10/21, thousands of Oregonians will “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” in The Great Oregon ShakeOut, the state’s largest earthquake drill ever! All individuals and families are encouraged to participate, either on their own or as part of a larger group. Major earthquakes may happen anywhere you live, work, or travel. The ShakeOut is our chance to practice how to protect ourselves, and for everyone to become better prepared.  You can practice the drill before 10/21 or in the days after, just so long as you take the time to learn and practice what to do during major shaking. The goal is to prevent a major earthquake from becoming a catastrophe for you and our community.

HOW TO PRACTICE!  After the Drill practice walking any evacauation route.  Wear orange if you do to signify your participation and alert others of the drill.  Know your risks, make a plan, build a kit.  Be Ready Seaside.
