U.S. 26 lane closures and delays to begin in April 2024

News Release

What you can expect: The most impactful periods of work will require:

A 24-hour lane closure for about 10 days in April 2024. A 24-hour lane closure for about 24 days in September 2024.

Throughout construction, you can expect noise, delays and single lane closures with flaggers as needed. The open single lane will only be 14-feet wide. We'll use barriers to help define the lane.

Vehicles wider than 12-feet will need to avoid traveling through this area during the restricted days and hours, or use authorized alternate routes.

Our schedule may change – visit the project webpage to learn more about what we're doing or TripCheck.com for the most up to date information on impacts.

About the project: The Little Humbug Bridge is along U.S. 26 and is more than 60 years old. This is an important highway connecting the coast to the Portland metro area. The bridge foundation is in poor condition and needs to be replaced. ODOT is installing bridge supports in April and will remove and rebuild the bridge one direction at a time starting in September. This will help minimize traffic impacts during the summer.
