Planning Department

This department provides for the activities associated with the Planning
Department. It provides staff support to the Planning Commission, serving
as a liaison between the Commission, and the City Council and the Public.
It prepares all reports and findings to support land use decisions. Planning
is also responsible for administering the Comprehensive Plan.
The Planning Department consists of the Planning Director, one-half time
Administrative Code Specialist, and one-half time Planner/Code Compliance
Officer and both staff members are shared with the Building Department.
The duties of the Planning Department include dealing with the public and
potential developers on land use and zoning issues. The Planning Director
is also the staff person for the Planning Commission and the Landmarks
Commission.
