Vacation Rental Complaint

When there is an alleged or perceived Vacation Rental Dwelling (VRD) permit violation, the reporting person is advised to contact the local contact or property manager listed for the VRD. For some VRDs, a preferred contact is listed along with a local contact. The preferred contact, if listed, should be called first.

GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO RESPOND TO THE COMPLAINT

The reporting person should leave the local contact a voicemail if the local contact does not answer the phone. Local contact information can be found by accessing the local contact map. The local contact for specific Vacation Rentals can also be obtained by calling City Hall (503)738-5511, the Community Development Dept. (503)738-7100, or after hours at the Police Dept. (503)-738-6311.

The Seaside Planning Commission has deemed 2 hours as a reasonable amount of time for the local contact to take reasonable steps to respond to the complaint. The reporting party is advised to allow a reasonable amount of time for the local contact to respond to the complaint.

The reporting party will need to provide to the local contact the VRD address and the nature of the complaint (e.g. over occupancy, parking issue, noise, trash, etc.). The reporting party will need to provide their name, address, e-mail address, or phone number to the local contact if they wish to be advised of any response to their complaint.

Please fill out this form after the local contact has been called and has been given a reasonable amount of time to respond to the complaint. Filling out this form will alert the City of Seaside Transient Rental Compliance that a complaint has occurred and notify us of any action or inaction by the local contact. This form will NOT generate an immediate response to your complaint. For an immediate response to your complaint please call the listed local contact.

Please Note: If the complaint concerns unreasonable noise, disorderly conduct, or some other non VRD specific city code infraction, the Police non-emergency dispatch may be contacted directly at (503)738-6311, or in case of an emergency, call 911.
